We had a really nice Easter. We kept it as simple as we could. Ben and I went over to his parents' house Saturday night and stayed until almost 1am talking. His brother, Nathan, just got home from his mission to Ecuador. It was really fun to see him again and see his mission pictures. But, I was too tired by the time we got back to my parents' to put together the Easter baskets. Julia got up with Heather, Chris and Josh and was quite sad that she didn't have a basket to find. She came into my room and woke me up. She handed me her basket and said, "The Easter Bunny came but I got this." Inside she had put a dirty sock. Poor kid. So I promptly filled her basket full of fun toys and a few yummy treats.
This was Adria's first Easter because last Easter was the first Sunday in April and I was 9 months pregnant. *groan* I think Adria quite liked Easter. Both of the girls got M&Ms and lolly pops (or wollylops as Julia calls them). Julia tried to show Adria how to lick the lollipop...
but Adria just didn't quite get it.
She gave up on trying to lick it...
and decided to just eat it like a cookie.
The girls also got eggs filled with little toys and sidewalk chalk shaped like Easter eggs.
They are definitely having fun playing up here with their aunts, uncles and cousins. They like having the big kids to follow around. Of course the older girls think it's great fun and encourage my girls to do whatever they want.
I'm impressed by how well Julia is remembering names. We are leaving tomorrow to go on a family trip with my mom's family. There are 23 kids going! Julia has not lacked friends to play with up here. Adria is also enjoying herself immensely. She doesn't have any friends her age to play with in California, but with my family up here she has two little cousins that are just a few months apart and they are playing really well (for 1 year olds). My only complaint is that the weather up here is not April appropriate. The snow right now is close to 5 inches deep! Yucky!
