Julia is so excited for her recital. And she looks so amazing in her tutu! I asked my wonderful friend Marnee Marriott to do little photo shoot. Julia was thrilled beyond words at how the pictures turned out. She's pretty much planning on covering her room with the pictures. She can't pick a favorite. Thanks Marnee for doing such an amazing job!

Paris dreams
I'm not sure when it started. It's been a few months for sure. Julia has started dreaming of visiting Paris. She's always been a romantic at heart, and there's something about Paris that seems to call to the romantics and the dreamers. Last week I finally told her that if she saved enough money one day she could go to Paris. We talked about how long it would take to save that much money, but she wants to try. She's been doing extra chores to earn money for her "Paris bank."
We've read books about Paris and France. She keeps asking me how to say something in French. She's started imagining she's in Paris when she's playing. So when I saw a printable version of Paris, I knew she'd be so excited. I helped her print and cut it out yesterday. She spent hours playing with it after church.
Whether or not she ever does save enough money, or if she still even wants to go to Paris in 10 years, I think it's great to have big dreams and work toward them. What fun is life without something grand to hope for?

Kindergarten Graduation
Today was Julia's Kindergarten graduation. She is so excited for summer break, but less excited to wear a hot gown and cap when it's 110 outside. She had fun with all her songs. She has loved her friends and teachers this year. I know she'll be sad to say goodbye.
Kara Kara Kara
This last month has been filled with hot, boring days. Kara is at a fun, active age. She loves to play and run and explore anything she can reach.
She seems to be a girly-girl through and through. The prettier it is the more she loves it. She wants bows, necklaces, bracelets and dress-ups. And she loves bags!
She also loves coloring. She will color all day long on anything she can reach.
She also loves to play with make up. I finally started keeping my make up in the car because she kept getting it. I'm pretty sure that its a right of passage for little girls to get into mommy's make up.
Luckily Kara is Julia's younger sister. So if she wants make up, Julia will help.
We are all loving this age. Kara is such a sweet, spunky, silly, happy kid. We couldn't ask for a more wonderful one year old!
