Julia is at such a fun age and I know I will quickly forget all the cute things she does so I thought I'd blog a couple of the current "Julia-isms"... My personal favorite is her word for shoes. Two months ago she was saying "shoe" quite clearly, but then she started wearing some pink boots that quickly became her favorite things to wear (despite very hot weather). Then all shoes were suddenly called "boos" (meaning boots). For a couple weeks I tried to explain the difference between boots and shoes and I apparently emphasized the "sh" sound more than anything because now anything worn on your feet is called a "booshhh" (Julia's favorite words always seem to have the last syllable emphasized quite firmly.) This is a picture of her saying "boosh" while giving me an "I am an imp" look. It quite accurately captures her personality.
My other favorite "Julia-ism" is new this week. Whenever she does something she's proud of, or more often, something she should do, she holds out her arms and says "ta-ta" (meaning ta-da).
One of the more annoying "Julia-ism" is her new way of getting my attention. She quite loudly says "Mom!" and if I don't respond she instantly starts a whine worthy of a teenage girl that sounds like "moooom, moooom, mooom" and continues until I acknowledge her. I have to admit that I miss the days of the toddler-like "mommy". All in all though, she is such a cute kid, and we love her so much!
