Castles and Craters

Yesterday we had a fun day exploring Arizona. We wanted to get out of the house so we decided to go up to the Verde Valley. It was such a beautiful place!! Julia and Adria were talking in the back seat about how they liked seeing green trees and they were grateful that Heavenly Father made trees. Our first stop was some Indian ruins called Montezuma's Castle.

It was really cool, but we couldn't get very close. Julia was like a spunge with the information she heard. She was totally facinated. She cried when it was time to leave because she wanted to learn more. We wanted to hit up some more ruins in the area, but we had bad directions so we didn't make it in time. We'll try again on our next trip up to Utah since it's on the way.
We had a yummy dinner in Flagstaff and then we went and saw the Meteor Crater. It was so incredible to see! The meteor itself was only about 150 feet long, but the crater it made is huge.

The biggest rock you see in the background here on the left side is actually the size of a house.

This is the largest piece of the meteor that they found. It its heavier than a VW Bug.
The girls had a really fun time. Julia hasn't stopped talking about meteors and castles since she woke up this morning.

Your girls always say the sweetest things, they must have a good mommy whispering sweet things to them.
