Draper Temple Open House

Hello all! I just wanted to do a quick post about our trip to the Draper Temple and then I will post more about the rest of our trip to Utah later. If any of you have talked to me since we went through the open house, you will have heard our little story about Julia. But I will retell it because its such a cute story. Before we went, we had to explain to JuJu that the temple is Heavenly Father and Jesus' house. She was under the impression that it was her temple and that no one else was going to go in with her. Once we got past that misunderstanding, she was really excited to go see Jesus' house and would mention it in every prayer (in fact, she still mentions it all the time). For the tour, they had us start in the basement. When we got to the baptismal font, Ben whispered to Julia that the animals under the font were oxen. I'm not sure what she thought he said, but she looked at him and very firmly said, "Those are Jesus' cows, Daddy." What a sweet little girl she is! Ben and I were quite pleased that she had taken to heart our talks about the temple. I really loved the temple, especially the endowment rooms. And I have to say that it was one of the prettiest Celestial rooms I have seen. I really hope to go through it once it's dedicated.
